TOPIC 8: Heat Transfer

Tip 1:

Conduction takes place through 2 processes:

1. Transfer of Molecular Vibration; and

2. Diffusion of Free Electrons.

In metals (which have free electrons), conduction takes place through both processes; but in non-metals (which do not have free electrons), conduction takes place only through transfer of molecular vibration.
